nudity | A character brings up in conversation two adulterous affairs. A woman describes to her husband their sexual relations in frank but unobjectionable language. |
violence | One woman slaps another once sharply in anger. |
profanity | The S-word is used once--the very first word in the film. Beyond that, there is only the occasional "hell," "damn," "goddamn," and "great Christ!" |
alcohol | Everyone drinks (even a character who might be an alcoholic), but no one gets drunk. Two characters smoke. |
frightening | A character races down the stairs with a pistol. It is filmed as though she might shoot someone. A character tells about having his cat put down, but he describes it more accurately as having the cat killed. It's a pretty intense speech. |
