In 1947, Dalton Trumbo (Bryan Cranston) was Hollywood's top screenwriter until he and different craftsmen were imprisoned and boycotted for their political convictions. TRUMBO (coordinated by Jay Roach) relates how Dalton utilized words and mind to win two Academy Awards and uncover the foolishness and bad form under the boycott, which ensnared everybody from tattle feature writer Hedda Hopper (Helen Mirren) to John Wayne, Kirk Douglas and Otto Preminger.
