Raees is set in the early 80’s and 90’s in Gujarat, India. It is a fictitious story of a man, Raees, who builds an entire empire from the scratch. It’s a story about his rise and his relationships, which help him become the single most powerful man in the state.

The film contains frequent depictions of violence with impact and bloodletting seen. These are played out in a series of fights, shootouts and killings. There is frequent sight of bloody injury in the aftermath of these violent acts, but the depictions generally do not dwell on the details. In one of the stronger scenes, the protagonist is seen stabbing his adversary's throat with the temple of his spectacles, resulting in some blood spurting shown. Another scene depicts the protagonist in a prolonged fight sequence with a focused shot depicting a character getting shot in his head with blood spurts seen. |
