Barely multi year prior, nine fear based oppressors crashed into Paris with weapons, projectiles, and suicide belts. They were there to execute an organized, computed mass murder for the benefit of ISIL and, all the more emblematically, to dispatch an attack on culture itself, by turning the city's places of merriment - soccer stadiums, bistros, eateries, and obviously, the Bataclan show lobby - into landmarks to death and dread. They needed to spill blood, to quiets the West down.
