Stanley is infatuated with Margaret, the statuesque waitress who works with him. He meets George Spiggott AKA the devil and sells his soul for 7 wishes, which Stanley uses to try and make Margaret his own first as an intellectual, then as a rock star, then as a wealthy industrialist. As each fails, he becomes more aware of how empty his life had been and how much more he has to live for.
nudity | In the scene where Stanley is in the bathroom with George a womans bare breasts are visible in the mirror. In nearly all of his wishes, Moon tries to force Margaret to love him. In two of Moon's wishes Margaret is an adulteress. The Rendezvous Club has black and white posters of topless women posted outside. Lust, dressed throughout in a bikini, presses Moon's face to her bosom. Moon and Margaret make out. At George's going away party there are go-go dancers. |
violence | None of the violence is graphic. Throughout the film George commits various pranks and acts of vandalism. Moon halfheartedly tries to commit suicide, by hanging. Anger shoves Moon. George pricks Sloth's finger. A small drop of blood is shown. Margaret bites Moon. Moon attacks Anger. Anger then attacks a nearby priest. |
