John awakens from a coma to discover his wife and daughter were slaughtered in a brutal home invasion. Haunted by images of the attack, he vows to kill the man responsible: Luc Deveraux. While John tries to piece his reality back together, things get more complicated when he is pursued by a relentless UniSol named Magnus. Meanwhile, Deveraux and surviving UniSol Andrew Scott are preparing to battle anarchy and build a new order ruled by Unisols without government oversight. They are weeding out the weak and constantly testing their strongest warriors in brutal, life-and-death combat. Luc has emerged operating the Unisol Church of Eventualism, taking in wayward Unisols whom the government has been secretly operating as remote-controlled sleeper agents. His mission is to liberate these Unisols from the implanted memories and the lies the government has inserted in them. As John gets closer to Deveraux and the rogue army of genetically enhanced warriors, he discovers more about himself ...
nudity | 8/10 There is a sex scene which is in what looks like a brothel in which a many men are having sex with many woman and you can see their acts upon passing by the rooms. These images are brief but quite graphic. In one of the rooms a woman is straddling a man and then someone walks in on them. You see breast and full frontal male nudity. |
violence | 10/10 The violence in this film are brutal and very graphic. Not for the faint of heart. The darkest in the series. At the beginning of the movie, a man was being attacked by the group of men with a crowbar brutally, then his wife and daughter. After that, one of the men shoots his wife in the head (blood splatters on the wall) then his daughter on the head (not seen). It turns out that he remembers while he is on coma. Many, many people were brutally killed throughout the film such as shot, stabbed, beating, fist fight, stomped etc. John get beaten up by a man with crowbar. Very graphic. Man enter a brothel and starts shooting people with a shotgun. This scene is very disturbing and intense. A man beat another man brutally on the CCTV (we see a man pin him on the wall and beat him to death on the side of the bed). The aftermath of his mangle corpse were also shown. Very graphic. There is a fight scene with an axe. A man gets his fingers cut off with an axe and another person gets his foot cut in half. This scene is extremely graphic. A man threathning to kill a woman with a knife, but he is shot on the chest with a double barrel shotgun by another man (very graphic). He is then shot once by a same man (off-screen). A man punch another man in the face and they both gets into a fist fight crowded by a group soldier. A group of soldier then joined in by beating a man and nearly die. Luc then shoots him in the head (off-screen). A man fires a shotgun on a another man's truck several times till the truck crashes (they survived). A man then attack another man through a windowed-glass (graphic), the both then gets into a brutal fist. A man ended up having his head hit with a baseball bat till explode into a gory pieces. Very graphic. A man shoots another man in the face (multiple blood splatters on the windshield). Extremely graphic. The final battle scene between Luc Deveraux and John is very intense and very brutal. A man rage sudden and start killing the entire army base violently. Involving stomping, shooting, stabbing etc. A man has his head drill with a very bloody and graphic results. |

frightening | 10/10 Universal Soldier IV is much more darker and violent than the previous "Universal Soldier" movies. The film itself were originally rated NC-17 for it's violence. Epileptics warning: Two scenes has a full minutes of rapidly strobing white frames which may cause seizures or tears in your eyes. The atmosphere of film is very dark and extremely disturbing all the way through, tense in some parts with a few jump out scenes and the violence are very sudden, overpowered, gory, graphic and intense. The ending is very disturbing and unsettling. MPAA Rating: Rated R for Brutal Bloody Violence Throughout, Strong Sexual Content, Graphic Nudity, and Language (Edited for Re-Rating). |
