nudity | No sex or nudity. |
violence | Throught the film, there are many intense action sequences that include fights ,kicks ,punches, punched down people ,shootouts in which many people killed but no blood. There are many destruction scenes. The climactic final battle scene is very intense, destructive and harsh. There are some mild blood on Cap's face including Black Widow and the others faces and bodies. Loki stabs one man in the back, the blade protrude from his victim's chest with blood on the edges and the man's mouth. Bruce Banner reveals that he tried to kill himself by shooting himself in the mouth, but says "the other guy" (the Hulk) spit the bullet out. It is very intense to hear the story. |
profanity | One use each of "ass," "bitch" and "bastard", and two uses of "pussy". Loki hurls out the British anatomical vulgarity "quim" as a sexist putdown. |
alcohol | Tony and Pepper sip champagne, and Tony offers Loki a drink before pouring himself a glass of whiskey. Tony asks Bruce if he stays under control with the help of "a huge bag of weed." |
frightening | There are several prolonged and intense action sequences, but they're not shot in an overtly horrific or graphic way, and there are also many comedic moments throughout the film that lighten the tension. Bruce Banner has many scenes where he is apparently getting emotionally stressed enough to transform into the Hulk, and all the other characters show obvious fear of that happening. In the sequence of the attack on the helicarrier, Banner and the Black Widow are blown into a lower section of the ship and Banner loses emotional control badly enough to change into the Hulk and he chases the Black Widow, causing massive destruction along the way. A superhero intercepts a nuclear missile headed for Manhattan, forces it into a portal leading to an alien base, and agrees to call his girlfriend (implying that he understands he might die); however, the call fails and he stares at the exploding alien base while falling back through the portal (he is unconscious as he plummets toward the earth but he is saved before hitting the ground and is revealed to be alive and unharmed). One scene, taking place in Stuttgart, Germany, includes a short but frightening shot of Loki flipping a man over and using a device to seemingly scan or take out his eyeball. Though this is not explicitly shown, the viewer can still hear the man yelling in pain and writhing. May be disturbing to younger viewers. The alien master known as The Other is very scary and disturbing. MPAA Rating: Rated PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, mayhem and destruction, some language ,mild drug and alcohol refrences and for some scary images. |
