John Gregory, who is a seventh son of a seventh son and also the local spook, has protected his country from witches, boggarts, ghouls and all manner of things that go bump in the night. However John is not young anymore, and has been seeking an apprentice to carry on his trade. Most have failed to survive. The last hope is a young farmer's son named Thomas Ward. Will he survive the training to become the spook that so many others couldn't? Should he trust the girl with pointy shoes? How can Thomas stand a chance against Mother Malkin, the most dangerous witch in the county ?
nudity | Mother Malkin shows cleavage in various scenes, as does Lizzie, and occasionally Alice. The amounts of said cleavage vary, with Lizzie sometimes showing a fair amount and Alice only a little bit. After Tom rescues Alice from some angry townsfolk, she somewhat suggestively asks what he's going to do with her. At night, Tom discovers Alice swimming in a pond of sorts, and she is presumably nude, but we see nothing but bare shoulders and her head. She tells him to turn around as she gets out, and we then briefly see her in wet attire, but nothing explicit. Moments later, they nearly kiss, but don't. Tom suddenly kisses Alice, and she then kisses him back. We later see them cuddled together under the covers, with him seemingly fully clothed, and her with her top off one shoulder. It's unclear, but somewhat suggested that they have slept together, and they kiss again in that position while lying down. Alice kisses Tom. Tom kisses Alice. |
violence | Regular fast moving [somewhat over-choreographed] fights and battles, some shots are mildly intense but not dwelled upon. In a battle, a man is hit leaving a bloody gash. When witches attack a nearby village some (in monster form) - eat some people. When the village was under attacked there are many buildings and stands destroyed, people being killed, and A protagonist's mother - who was a witch also - was killed by Mother Malkin The former apprentice - Billy Bradley - was killed by Mother Malkin after she was contained with him in a cage where she sucked his soul and got out unhurt even though the cage was set on fire. In the Spook's house there was this knight armor which a man checked and was about to close the door before it moved engaging into an unexpected fight with him. A man who can transform himself to a large bear was captured, two men were visited in their camp by the King's men to inform them about the news and ordered them to kill the beast. They found out that it was one of Malkin's cohorts. A man's training is a bit dangerous and was pushed to extreme for he was only given a short span before the blood moon. A man was close to being killed by a witch but was saved by a pendant. A witch was stabbed by a staff. A man was choked by a witch. A man was beaten by another man in a tavern although he was warned. A chained woman was being dragged by some men. |
