How far would you go to protect your family? Keller Dover is facing every parents worst nightmare. His six-year-old daughter, Anna, is missing, together with her young friend, Joy, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had earlier been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, Alex Jones, but a lack of evidence forces his release. As the police pursue multiple leads and pressure mounts, knowing his childs life is at stake the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. But just how far will this desperate father go to protect his family?

violence | 9/10 This film is quite violent and can be very graphic at times, although the main issue is the disturbing thematic material throughout. A mentally disabled man is repeatedly tortured. He's repeatedly punched, threatened over a long period of time and tortured with extremely hot water. His face is extremely bloody and swollen. A deer is shot on-screen, but no blood present as it is seen from afar. It is later seen through a foggy window. A man shoots himself in the head. Blood and brain matter splatter onto the wall behind him and he slumps to the floor. A man and woman shoot at each other. It's unclear where she's shot, but blood flies onto the wall behind her and she slumps to the floor. The man is shot in the forehead, but only a bloody gash and a damaged eye is seen. A man who's been tortured, is untied by a woman and he then kicks her in the stomach and smashes a window. Another man subdues him and the tortured man holds a piece of broken glass in his hand, cutting it. A man is shot in the leg and thrown into a hole in the ground. A man finds a heavily decayed body; a priest then says that the man confessed to 16 child murders. A detective slams a suspects face into a table in anger. Very graphic. A man finds suitcases filled with children's clothes covered in blood. A mentally disabled man yanks a small dog up into the air by its lead for a few seconds. The dog struggles and appears to yelp in pain and is then released. |

frightening | 8/10 The content of the movie is very disturbing and intense as it deals with child abduction and possibly murder. The final act is very intense and distressing. Many scenes throughout can be emotionally intense and unsettling to watch. MPAA/USA - Rated R for disturbing violent content including torture, and language throughout. BBFC/UK - Rated 15 (strong violence, language, abduction theme). |
