In contemporary London, a Cambodian Chinese mother mourns the untimely death of her son. Her world is further disrupted by the presence of a stranger. We observe their difficulties in trying to connect with one another without a common language, as through a translator they begin to piece together memories of a man they both loved.
nudity | Two men lie naked in bed, kissing tenderly but not heatedly. Their genitalia are not visible and are covered by the bed sheets. The scene is sensual but not sexual. An elderly man and woman kiss. He makes several sexual jokes. An elderly woman complains about an elderly man, saying she does not like that he pinches her bottom. |
violence | A man is said to have died due to being hit by a car but this is not shown. |
profanity | Contains one use of the C word. A man describes the driver who hit and killed his boyfriend as a c*** during an emotional duologue. |
frightening | The film is emotionally intense but not frightening. A young man has died an accidental death before the beginning of the film, and through current events and flashbacks, this loss is explored in the film by both his partner and his elderly mother. |
