Marcus Burnett is a hen-pecked family man. Mike Lowry is a foot-loose and fancy free ladies man. Both are Miami policemen, and both have 72 hours to reclaim a consignment of drugs stolen from under their stations nose. To complicate matters, in order to get the assistance of the sole witness to a murder, they have to pretend to be each other.
nudity | 3/10 There is no sex, but in the beginning of the movie there is a scene where Martin Lawrence implies he has a hard penis and both he and his wife look at it. Nothing is shown. There is a scene in a club where there are many mostly naked women dancing around. Many female butts are shown, lots of skin, lots of prevication, however this is not the whole point of the scene. |
violence | 8/10 At the beginning of the picture, an attempted carjacker gets punched in the face, another gets kicked in the groin. A decoy cop is shot, little blood is shown. A guard cop gets stabbed in the neck (no blood shown). Cops find a dead body with much blood. A woman is shot in the back (not seen, but later falls and breaks a glass table); a former cop gets shot (little blood present) in the leg and then several times in the chest (we see the bullets rip into the back of the chair he's in). One of the cops is ambushed and thrown through a window (later states he has a concussion). The other cop gets a plastic bag pulled over his head by one attempting to suffocate him, but the cop fights back. Another man uses his body to break a large fish tank. When he attempts to shoot the cop, nothing fires. The cop hits him in the face hard and bangs his head against one of the toilets. The cops get chased by the thugs. One of them shoots at them with a shotgun (later he is killed when one of the cops throws tanks of ether at them and blows them up with his gun). A cop forces another man against a low surface, holds a gun at the back of his head, and threatens to kill him if he doesn't start talking. A gunshot is heard and the window on a taxicab breaks (it is implied that the driver is shot in the head) before the cab is stolen. A man is graphically shot through the stomach with substantial blood. Many people are shot with graphic results; one of the cops is shot in the leg while trying to protect a woman. A man gets shot with a shotgun into a panel and gets electrocuted. The other of the two cops gets shot by the same guy in the shoulder. The criminal severely wrecks his car and upon exiting, he attempts to flee, but is shot in the ankle (much blood present). He later attempts to kill the two cops, but is shot seven more times-moderate blood present from each wound. |
profanity | 9/10 There are moments in the film where time goes by with little to no coarse language, but there are also moments of very frequent and often aggressive uses of fuck, motherfucker, shit, etc. Also 1 use of nigger. 80 f-words |
alcohol | 5/10 The heroes are narcotics cops. The bad guys steal an enormous amount of heroin from the police. This heroin is shown and mentioned many times (in "brick" form as well as powder). It is implied that one character had been using it (His sniffing and his attempts to cover it up when guests arrive are implications). There is some minor drinking during a club scene, and another scene inside a liquor store (but no drinking). |
frightening | 6/10 Some of the content can be very scary at parts (see violence and gore) but is okay otherwise. Appropriate for children 15 and over. If movies had ESRB ratings: M for Blood, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Drugs |
